Lap. Spleen Preserving Splenic Cyst Excision

Operative Findings:
Large splenic cyst 15 - 15 cm on lower pole side of spleen
Splenic tissue normal
On aspiration -content serous clear fluid, no septations s/o simple cyst
Operative Steps:
Position - supine with 30 degree lt up
Painting with betadine
Draping with strile towels
pneumoperitonium created with vareese needle in the midline 5 cm above the umbilicus
10 mm cameraport inserted
Another three 5 m port in the epigastric, lt pararectus region in midclavicular line And in lt lumber region in anterior axillary line
Adhessions around the spleen is seperated
Cyst aspirated with aspiration needle taking care not to spill in the surrounding region and with betadine gauze
Cyst wall removed with the ligasure and haemostesis achieved
Speen is preserved
10 mm port sheath closed with port vicryl
Skin sutured.
