Hydatid liver cysts: Gharbi classification

    • The aim was to classify the sonographic patterns of hydatid cysts and to follow the natural evolution of pathology
    • The authors believe that the different types correspond to different stages in the evolution of liver hydatid cysts
    • Type I is the most common, type V is very rare
    • Patients may have more than one of the different types of cysts
