The Lauren Classification of Gastric Cancer

This is a classification of gastric cancer proposed in 1965 by Lauren that divides gastric cancer into either intestinal or diffuse forms
The Lauren classification is a useful classification for epidemiological studies
It only roughly stratifies gastric carcinoma into three histopathologic types and has little prognostic relevance
