This "Video Atlas of GI Surgery" consists of more than 110 teaching videos, most of them by invited authors who are masters in their field, some of them from outside India whereas mostly contributed by Indian experts. All these videos have been created with a format in mind, starting with the brief understanding of the procedure, the preoperative planning and preparation, OR setup, port placements, operative steps and postoperative recovery. Each of these videos also has a step-by-step learning for better understanding of the procedures, and transition so that a surgeon can go to a particular step directly. Each of these videos also have an audio commentary by the expert showing the important anatomical landmarks and precautions to avoid complications in each procedure. These videos have been edited by professional video editors.
I hope that these teaching videos will be greatly beneficial not only to the young surgeons aspiring to learn new procedures in GI surgery but also to practicing surgeons who wish to brush up their learning before going for a surgical procedure. If this purpose is served, the vision of all our contributors and our video editing team will seem to be fully accomplished.
